Does anyone know the name of movie?

I once heard a story about an old black/white movie that Walt Disney based the ride of the Haunted Mansion. Does anyone know the name of the movie? And, it's not Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphy...thanks!

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad may have had some influence on some early plans but the story was not used in the end. The Haunted Mansion was planned as a walk through while Walt Disney was alive. It didn't open until 1969, almost 3 years after Walt Disney's death. When it did open, it had become a ride through attraction instead of the originally planned walk-through attraction.
