I know you can book an extra vacation in one of the Disney Villas (quite pricey too), but has anyone ever been able to do an exchange into a Disney resort through RCI?

If so, how does it work, and what options do you have (MYW, DDP, etc...)?

My sister booked a week last January in a 2 bedroom at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. She goes to RCI and looks at what's available.

She has points, not weeks, and this makes a difference somehow, in exchanging, and being able to "see" what's available. I don't know where on the RCI website she goes to do this, tho.

Before RCI, it was Interval International and she could only get on a list and hope an opening came up.

You can buy the Dining Plan, but you don't get free dining. We have also used Disney's Magical Express. As for MYW, I don't know. We bought our tickets through a sponsor on Intercot here, and when we checked in at Wilderness Lodge, we had the tickets (park hoppers) put on our room keys.

You might be able to get more info at the DVC board here at Intercot.

Hope this helps.

We are going this December using my in-laws RCI points, staying at OKW. Everything Jan said is exactly what our experience is.

I would only add that we had a rough time getting the week we wanted. My Mother in law called in January thinking we'd have no trouble to get the first week this December, but none of the DVC's had any availability at all from Oct 1 through Dec 31. We were put on a waiting list and didn't get called for ages, we were just about ready to reserve at the Orange Lakes Resort, when RCI called with this opening at OKW. We really wanted to stay at VWL, but after thinking we weren't going to be onsite at all, we happily jumped on OKW. So call as soon as you can!!

How do you use the dining plan? We exchanged through RCI to stay at the Boardwalk Villas and we were told we could NOT do the dining plan as it isn't sold separately. We are paying a fee to use the Magical Express, but I don't know how to do the dining plan! HELP!!!
