I was wondering after listing to the cd do they really sing on the stage show our are they lip singing?

The lead characters (belle, the prince, etc) sing live. The background vocals are a soundtrack but the other characters lip sync to the background.

I too wondered and was surprised that the main characters sing live.

As they should, it is a LIVE stage show. They should cast accordingly. :)

It does almost sound too go to be true....but it is Disney :mickey:. I'm sure they don't struggle to attract top quality stage performers who can act and sing.

I skipped the Beauty and the Beast show for a couple of trips, and then went back to it on my last trip. I have no idea why this wasn't on my must-do list. It's soooo good!

Also, when I went years ago they had a very good opening act. It was a singing group. They didn't have an opening act on my last trip. Do they still do this from time to time?

I like it alot too. I actually like it better than the Broadway version!!! :)

The group was 4 For a Dollar. They were always my favorite part of going to Beauty, but they sadly no longer perform. Just one more example of Disney cutting some of the magic while prices continue to rise:(

Or......the group decided to move on.....

and i think w/ the new resort, expansion of fantasyland, new attractions at Disneyland, etc....disney is still adding some magic.

"4 for a Dollar" also go by the name "Return 2 Zero" and last performed as "4 for a Dollar" before Beauty and the Beast on 20 Sept 2008
