The weirdest thing that's happened to me in WDW was when I was a child, A senior citizen fell out of her wheelchair and was laying there, it was almost closing time at Epcot so no one was around to see her, So I ran in the nearest store and got help :ambal:. Whats the weirdest thing that's happened to YOU?

Being told by a cast member at SSR that the room I was staying in didn't exist. While I was calling from it. And yes, I had given her the correct room number.

I was talking to my mom earlier and she told me I got the story wrong. Here's what happened. A Senior in a power chair ran over a young woman who screamed, but the man must've had hearing problems or something cause he kept right on truckin' along. THATS when I got help.

I would say the weirdest thing was on our first day we were eating lunch at the Concourse Steakhouse and a man had a massive stroke a couple of tables away from us. They had to escort all of us out of the resturant (thank goodness we were done eating). It ruined that day for all of us. We all kept replaying the incident in our head:( We never knew what happen to the guy. We asked the hostess the next day and she said after we all left it did not look good.

that may be weird but also totally excellent.

So far weirdest thing would be last year when our driver brought us to Fort Wilderness and told us that this was our hotel. kept insisting there was no wilderness lodge despite the fact that we had assured him we had stayed there two years previous

Last year i was walking around World Showcase, just taking it all in, when i couldn't help but overhear a conversation. Two women were walking together behind me, and one was very emotional. She was complaining loudly how much she hated her life. She was swearing and using profanity and sounded quite distraught. I turned around to look, and saw a tall blonde, who, while beautiful, was dressed like a hooker.
I stopped and let them pass me by, but the idea of someone that despondant and suicidal, walking right where i feel as happy as any place on earth, was just totally wierd.

Two years ago, my mom and I went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, just the two of us. It was the first party of the season, and we seemed to get extra special treatment and attention everywhere we went, which was weird but awesome. What was weird but scary was when we decided to leave early. We were waiting for our bus when another bus came up and told us to get on. We told the driver that we were going to the Wilderness Lodge, and he said he would take us. We got on and we noticed a young family in the back (A few young adults and a couple of babies) and we moved to the back with them because the driver was acting strange. They were complaining about how the driver promised to take them to their resort immediately, and that was 30 minutes ago. We finally took off and the driver was FLYING! I've never been on a Disney bus that was going that fast. And he took turns at an extremely fast rate which really scared us. He was going over the lines and just kept driving and driving all over Disney. 10-15 minutes later, we made it to the WL. We didn't want to leave the young family with that guy, but we didn't know what else to do. The young woman went up to the front of the bus and the driver just took off while she's standing next to him! She was yelling at him and he acted like he didn't even see or hear her. We don't know what happened to them after that. We started walking across that long wooden bridge (At the Villas) at nearly midnight when we heard a man following us. He just came literally out of nowhere. He started walking really fast like he was trying to catch up with us, so my mom and I decided to make a run for it. We had blisters and we were sore and tired, but we just wanted to get to our room, so we ran the whole way. The guy never came inside the building. That was definitely our weirdest trip ever!

Weirdest thing that has happened to us, was also one of the super coolest.

My wife was shy as a teenager. We met as freshmen at BYU in 1990. She didn't have a roommate, and so didn't really have anyone to talk to. One girl with super bushy, bright red hair befriended her (named Holly, just for reference). She became one of her best friends. As happens to most people, once you get out of college, get married, get a job, build a life, you start to lose contact with people. As was the case with Holly.

About five years ago, (my wife and I had been married for ten years at that point) we were visiting a state park in Illinois along the Mississippi River and saw a couple walk out of a building that we were headed towards. The woman had super bushy, bright red hair. As they started to walk towards us, I commented to my wife, "Hey, that looks like Holly." The woman looked up at my wife and I and squealed. It was indeed Holly, her husband, and daughter. We had not see her in a decade. She was married to a lawyer and lived in Southern California. We were living right there in Illinois. Just happened to run into her on vacation. We hung with them the rest of the day.

Now, later that year, we went to WDW. We were stopped at the restrooms at Odyssey (Epcot) to take a much needed break. I was waiting outside with the stroller, when from behind me, I hear, "NO WAY!" Turned around, and there was Holly, husband, and daughter. At WDW, visiting from California. Had we not stopped at Odyssey and kept going, we probably never would have seen them.

Now, I know that people run into old acquaintances/friends at WDW a lot. But we ran into Holly twice in the same year on vacation, in two completely different places, halfway across the country from each other. What are the odds?

It always makes me wonder how many people that I know are actually visiting WDW when we're there, and I just never run into them?

In July 0f 2002 my DW and I were doing some shopping in the World of Disney store at DTD. We were browsing through the team/sports section and as I moved around the other side of a display I was looking at I nearly collided with Michael Jackson as he was rushing by. Just after that he was escorted into a backstage area of the store by a CM - I'm assuming they were trying to avoid a massive commotion. Too bad I didn't see him sooner - would have been neat to get a photo. :(

Leaving Fantasmic! during the cattle stampede and sliding at least 3 feet on top of a dirty diaper that someone threw down on the path!! I almost fell on my butt, but somehow recovered my balance. Yes, we laughed about how my arms waved around, but also about what lunatics some people are!!:mickey:

"Weird but wonderful". We realized my DFIL was going into a diabetic attack. We didn't have any small candy bars on us as we usually do. So I literally ran into the nearest shop, yelling at the top of my lungs, that I need a candy bar, NOW, for a diabetic. And before I got the last word out, a large candy bar came sailing thru the air, over the heads of the other patrons, from the wonderful CM behind the counter, with a "take care of me later" wave! So, after things were right, I went back in to pay and thank this angel, and she told me she had a diabetic mother and knew exactly what was happening! A true testament of going "above and beyond", and just what I would expect from a WDW cm!

Also weird but exciting! We were on our way to Chef Mickey's and actually arguing because I was in trouble for booking the breakfast at 7:00AM (too early so far into the trip). We are running behind and had just started up the steps when a lady starts hollering after us. My DH turns around and goes back, much to my ire as we are late. I kept going with the DKs and we wait at the top of the steps for a short eternity! I finally got really irritated and went back after him. He then proceeds to tell me how he is saying no to 4 Cirque Du Soliel sp? tickets that her party couldn't use because we had already made plans for the only evening we could possible go. I said "We'll take'em and change our plans! Lets eat!" So we ended up with 2nd tier seats in the most amazing center stage spot in the theatre! The show was incredible and we would never have been able to afford it otherwise! :mickey:

A few years back I was wandering around Epcot alone while my husband was napping back at our hotel. I had gone to the Rose and Crown for a Guinness and then headed over to the spot in England where the Beatle cover band always plays. It's a nice little garden setting and it was completely deserted at that time of the day. I took my beer and sat down on a bench in the back of the garden. After a few minutes I heard a rustling in the bushes behind me. I turned around in time to see Alice (From Wonderland) running out of the bushes muttering about the "white rabbit" who was in fact right behind her. The two scurried around the garden for a few minutes and then dissappeared back into the bushes. It was an entire little performance just for me. I swear this happened and it wasn't the Guinness! :secret: :mickey:

I don't know if this qualifies as strange but it definitely left an impression on my family...

During one of our trips to the MK, while walking in an after-parade exodus, a little boy (probably 4 yrs old) was skipping along next to his mother who was pushing a double stroller for her twins. The little boy fell, just when he was slightly in front of the stroller, and his Mom couldn't stop in time. Both the front and rear wheels rolled over his fingers. Naturally, he was screaming in pain, his Mom was panicking, and...this is terrible...when she finally got him to let her look at his hand, one of his fingers was very obviously broken. I'm talking visible bone through skin. We felt so badly for them. My kids still mention that time whenever we go to the parks.

What a way to end a magical day at Disney! I've spent a night at Celebration Hospital and I can tell you it is not an attraction you want to visit!!

The weirdest thing for me was meeting Steven Tyler of Aerosmith in Frontier Land.

I would classify that as the "coolest" thing. :cloud9:

A couple of years back we were in the "cool spot" getting an icee for our youngest son. I asked my son if he could guess the name of the CM waiting on us (obviously I read his name tag and their his was the same as my son). My husband and I engaged the young man in conversation, turns out he and my son both had the same middle name and their birthdays were 2 days apart. I won't easily forget this young man or his name as his last name was Price and ours is Wright...(i.e., the Price is Right).

I was in Epcot with my teenage cousins and their mom (my aunt) last year - just outside of The Land going toward imagination down by the water pond there. We stopped to look at the water and to try to spot fish. Then we saw a wild mother duck strut down to the waters edge and about 6 little ducklings following her and each one jumped into the pond and started to swim behind their mother. It was a totally cute photographic moment.

That is until the last little duckling plopped into the water and sunk like a rock. We stared in horror as it went completely under water - it was thrashing about under the surface, but its momma & it's siblings continue swimming in a line away totally unaware that one of the babies was in trouble.

So my aunt yells, "Oh no! Save the duck!" A man next to her sprung into action, he jumped over the little rail and ran into the water and scooped the duckling up - saving it from drowning. We all stood there looking in disbelief, but we glad the the little duckling was "saved" he put it down by the water's edge and the momma duck and it's sibblings returned swimming toward it. Every body was sort of offering commendation to the "hero" who acted so quickly.

But then out of no where (coming from the Imagination building area) a bunch of Disney security cast members came running to the scene and grabbed the "hero man" by the arm. They started reprimanding him for entering the water loudy as he climbed back over the little fence - his sneakers were all wet and dirty. He was trying to explain what he did and why he did it, but security was "really reaming him out". All of my family and the others gathered there too started objecting to this treatment and we too were trying to explain that he only did it to save the drowning duck.

I guess to avoid a even bigger scene, they whisked him away towards Imagination really quick and said that he should have left the duck alone because guests are not permitted in the pond. We tried to follow to "defend the hero man", but security told us no. :(

Funny thing was that the momma duck gave the nearly drowned baby duck a major "quaking too" (I guess about nearly drowning - but I don't speak duck - LOL). It was a weird situation for all involved - but the "hero man" acted self-lessly - unfortunately neither Disney or the momma duck seemed to appreciate his heroics. But we did. ;)

Wow. So Disney would rather you stand by and let the duckling die? Takes the magic away some, doesn't it? I hope the hero didn't get in too much trouble.

Two things.

First: I can't remember the exact year (possibly 2003), my mom & I found a wallet before we hit the bag check/security entrance of MK. The owner must have just lost it because everything, including his money, was in there. We didn't have bags, so we went to the "guests without bags" entrance & gave the wallet to Disney Security...who then proceeded to somehow make us feel "weird" for turning it in. I told the officer where we found it, explained that the money & everything else was still inside. The officer made a big deal about us turning it in, but not in a good way. Like, he couldn't BELIEVE someone was turning in a found wallet (including the money). And then he made a big deal of opening the wallet & seeing the money was there.

Second: possibly not weird but almost definitely crude: I felt like a snack, so I went to one of the carts in DHS. I wanted to at least feel like I was trying to eat something healthy, so I ordered a chocolate covered banana & I said, "I guess it counts as eating healthy, right?" The male CM working the cart (who I feel alluded to an inappopriate comment when he said this) said something along the lines of "I really want to say something, but it's probably more suited for Universal Studios," and then laughed this creepy laugh. I'm normally not a pearl-clutcher, but I was stunned. I was so stunned I didn't think to report it.

Weirdest thing was two years ago when two young girls from Japan followed my wife and I around EPCOT taking photos and video because they thought I was Nikki Sixx from Motley Crüe.

No matter how many times I told them I wasn't they wouldn't listen.

We were on the monorail during a large thunder storm. The power went out and we were stuck on the track for about 30 minutes. Once the power came back on, they took us to the contemporary and they shut down the monorail for the rest of the night. We had dinner reservations at the poly and it was mass confusion trying to get a bus there. Hundreds of people were confused on what to do and were to go. It took us about 1 1/2 hours to get to poly. We could have walked there in less time, but it was raining very hard. We were surprised that DW was so unorganized in this situation.:mickey:

We stayed at SSR in November 2008 and we had a group of about 14 people and they totally messed up our tickets so we could not get into the park, we got that all straightened out then yet again the next day one member of the group ticket did not work so they gave us all free passes to Disney Quest. They messed those up too but in a good way, instead of expiring the week of our stay they expired the week of our stay... in 2080. I don't know what happened to the cards but it would be interesting to see if they still worked.

In 1998 we were staying at the Grand Floridian and my mother and I were walking around the lobby looking in the shops. We got in the elevator and when the door closed we hit the button for the 2nd floor but instead of stopping the elevator went up to the concierge floor. We got off the elevator and pretended we belonged up there. We looked around, pretended we were looking for my father and got back in the elevator.

Another time at the Contemporary I was sitting by the pool with my parents and I heard a guy sitting near us say to someone "What happened to you?" and the other person answered that he didn't know but when he woke up his face was paralyzed. I had Bell's palsy twice and both times it came on fast and I woke up noticing the symptoms. I whispered to my mother what I heard, she's a nurse, and we walked over to them. We explained that we had over heard the conversation and that he really needed to get to an ER to get checked out and my mother told him she was positive it was Bell's palsy. They thanked us and took off. Later that evening I was in one of the shops and someone tapped me on the shoulder. When I turned around it was the guy from the pool. He said he didn't want to bother me but he'd been keeping a look out for me. He had seen a doctor in the ER and my mother and I were right. He had started on medication and the doctor told him he was going to be fine.

It seemed as though Doug Flutie and his family were following us around MK. Every attraction we went to there they were. At one point my husband was in the men's room and there he was AGAIN and said "waht are you following me?" (joking of course) and Mr. Flutie replied I have noticed that too.

Weirdest thing for me was riding ToT with an elderly couple next to me. The way he looked, the husband had been a manual laborer for a good 50+ years. They didn't know the ride dropped. My boys were young - maybe 3 and 1 or 4 and 2 and we were waiting patiently for the current version of the electric light parade at MK.

A lady walked up to me and asked, "what did you drug your kids with?"

I said, "pardon?"

She said, "your kids are too quiet, you must have drugged them with something. I don't care how much the taxi costs, I am going to find a drug store and buy whatever it is tonight."

I said, "I made sure they had a good nap today. I haven't drugged them with anything."

She said, " You let your kids nap at Disney World? What a waste of time!" and walked away.

Yep - one of my most vivid (bad) memories of WDW and my sons are 13 and almost 11 now!

Something pretty sad:

Strangest thing I've seen at WDW was at Marrakesh this past April. My fiance and I were sitting and eating, when across the room we heard a commotion. A group of adults with special needs and their caregivers were dining across the room and one of the members of the party was having some difficulty and was yelling every few minutes. This was not odd to me because I have worked in various schools for several years now and was a special-education paraprofessional for a couple of those years. We minded our own business and continued eating.

It became difficult to mind our own business when one of the members of the group stood up and started attacking a caregiver who was maybe half his size. He was hitting her with a force I had never seen before. Before anyone could say anything, two big guys had him restrained and pinned to the floor. The "escorted" him out and moments the later, the restaurant resumed as if nothing had happened.

Here is my story.... :D

The MK is a very friendly place to ride your scooter. Disney has supplied the sidewalks with plenty of curb cuts so anything wheeled from scooters to strollers can safely transition from sidewalk to street. Well one after noon after a parade in the flag circle in front of the train station, one adventuring park person decided that she don't need no stinking curb cut.

She backed up her (SUPPER FAST... Well not really) Disney rental scooter, aimed strait at the tallest part of the curb. With sure determination she gunned the motor and attempted to jump the curb to the street.

Well.... she hit the curb .... then promptly tipped over on her side and landed half on, half off the curb with the wheels still spinning .

She was not hurt and swore she did not see the drop off and that Disney should do a better job of warning people of the danger. LOL... if I had not seen her back up I would have though it an accident.

After posting this I reading trough the others and remembered one more... Its been many years now that I have had to use a scooter / electric chair to get around. Well the first year right after the parade broke up in a very large crowed I hear a person yell... hey MOM... its your plumber!. This kind of thing seems to happen to me were ever I go.

I am very lucky she ever became my DW. Looking for an address in the Bronx I finely broke down to ask directions from a NYPD PO. I pull up he looks at me and says "hey your (My Name)". LOL... She thought I was wanted. I did not recognize the officer at first. He was married to and old high school friend.

You couldn't do anything for that hooker. Hookers are already dead inside. :mickey:
