Aug. 1, 1922 – The Laugh-O-Gram black & white silent cartoon “The Four Musicians of Bemen,” written, produced, and co-animated by Walt Disney was released.
Aug. 1, 1924 – Disney’s Alice Comedy “Alice the Peacemaker” was released.
Aug. 1, 1929 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse Short “Haunted House” was released. It’s Mickey’s first encounter with ghosts.
Aug. 1, 1933 – Comedic actor, chef and author Dom DeLuise was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. His Disney credits include the animated TV series “Hercules” (as the voice of Bacchus) and the animated feature “Oliver & Company” (as the voice of Fagin).
Aug. 1, 1936 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Mickey’s Circus” was released.
Aug. 1, 1941 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Truant Officer Donald” was released.
Aug. 1, 1947 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Crazy with the Heat” was released.
Aug. 1, 1951 – Disney’s Educational Film “How to Catch a Cold” was delivered to the International Cellucotton Co.
Aug. 1, 1953 – Disney’s Donald Duck short “The New Neighbor” was released.
Aug. 1, 1955 – The publication Popular Science ran the article “Kids’ Dream World Comes True.” It described the new Disneyland Park.
