July 26, 1916 – Actor Keenan Wynn (son of legendary comic Ed Wynn) whose Disney credits include the 1976 “The Shaggy D.A.,” the 1977 “Herbie Rides Agin,” the 1961 “The Absent Minded Professor,” and the 1963 “Son of Flubber,” was born in N.Y.C. (TV fans may recognize his voice as the Winter Warlock in the 1970 holiday special Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town.)
July 26, 1921 – Writer, humorist, and actor Jean Shepard (the voice of the father in Disney’s Carousel of Progress attraction) was born in South Chicago, Il. (Movie fans may recognize his voice as the narrator in his 1983 holiday classic “A Christmas Story.”)
July 26, 1937 – Disney Studios held an action analysis class led by instructor Don Graham.
July 26, 1951 – Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland” had its world premiere at London’s Leicester Square Theatre.
July 26, 1955 – Walt Disney and Fess Parker (dressed as Davy Crockett) appeared on the cover of LOOK Magazine.
July 26, 1959 – Actor Kevin Spacey, who was the voice of Hopper in Disney’s 1988 “A Bug’s Life” was born in South Orange, N.J.
July 26, 1959 – Disney’s live-action feature “The Spaceman and King Arthur” was released in theaters. A comedy about an astronaut and his android double who travel back to the time of King Arthur, it featured Dennis Dugan, Jim Dale, Ron Moody, and Kenneth More.
July 26, 1979 – The Disney film “Unidentified Flying Oddball” was released in U.S. theaters.
July 26, 1986 – The Disney Channel Premiere film “The Parent Trap II” aired.
July 26, 1991 – The Disney/Hollywood Pictures film “V.I. Warshawski” was released.
