Are there any good places to live between Tampa and Orlando? Any nice towns/cities, maybe around the halfway mark?

I hear the Ocala area is beautiful. :)

Well, we live in Brooksville and we love it. Actually, we live in Weeki Wachee. It's close enough to Disney yet on the coast. It's a nice place, stores, country, water, and nice people. It's about 30 minutes from Tampa on the Suncoast Parkway. If you have any other questions, send me a message. :mickey:

I think Winter Haven is about half way between both. While I haven't lived there I had visited several times, it is nice has lakes for skiing and soon will be home to Legoland (supposedly).

Seems like Lakeland is about halfway between the two on I-4. I've only ever been to the baseball stadium there (home of Detroit Tigers spring training), but it seems like a nice town.

We live in Valrico, on the east side of Tampa. We love this area, and it takes us 1 hour front door to resort property.

Have a friend that lives in Auburndale and loves it.

Thanks for the replies, I'm checking into all of the places! Actually, I'm now considering the Orlando area. Is there a great city right outside Orlando? Someplace that's "new" (As in newer houses and shopping) but still smaller in population?

Clermont

Clermont
I was just looking at that last night as my top choice! How is it on crime? I want someplace safe and I know Orlando can be pretty unsafe...

Anyone heard of Hunter's Creek?

I'm leaning towards Hunter's Creek or Windermere (Can't remember if that's the correct name) so any info on those areas will be greatly appreciated! :number1:

My parents live in Clermont and it is quite nice. Windemere is much more upscale than Clermont is. When I stay with them, it takes about 40 minutes with traffic, to get to the parks. If there's not much traffic on 192, it can be closer to 20 minutes. Either way, not too bad! It really is beautiful there and we're considering a move to that area as well. Good luck with your decision.

We're going to look into Celebration...primarily because it's only about 10 miles from WDW. :mickey:

Well, didn't get transferred, so no move after all that :( Thanks for everyone's input!
