June 19, 1915 – Pat Buttram, the voice of many Disney animated characters including Chief in Disney’s 1981 “The Fox and the Hound,” and Luke in the 1977 release of “The Rescuers,” was born in Addison, Alabama.
June 19, 1942 – Original Mouseketeer Nancy Abbate was born in Los Angeles.
June 19, 1942 – Michael Broggie, a nationally-recognized authority on the life and legacy of Walt Disney and the son of Roger Broggie (Disney’s original Imagineer) was born in Ca. At age 12, Michael would test-drive the miniature “Autopia” cars and accompany Walt Disney on the initial run of the Disneyland Railroad’s Steam Trains on June 18, 1955. (Michael is married to Sharon Charmagne Broggie, co-founder of The Carolwood Foundation.)
June 19, 1946 – Actress Jennifer Darling was born in Oklahoma City, Ok. Her Disney voice credits include “Brother Bear,” “Treasure Planet,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “The Emperor’s New Groove,” “A Bug’s Life,” and “Aladdin.”
June 19, 1948 – Actress Phlicia Rashad, who appears in the video pre-show of Disney’s “Dinosaur” attraction, was born in Houston, Tx.
June 19, 1957 – The Disney cartoon “The Story of Anybug, U.S.A.” was released.
June 19, 1957 – The Disney featurette “The Wetback Hound” was released.
June 19, 1957 – The Disney live-action adventure film “Johnny Tremain” (about a young silversmith’s apprentice who is drawn into the American Revolutionary War) was released. Walt’s daughter Sharon appears briefly in the film.
June 19, 1958 – A fourth locomotive (purchased in N.J. for $2,000.00) arrived at Disney’s backlot. It is to be rebuilt and put into service at Disneyland.
