How do you find out about upgrades?

I'm curious when Disney gives you an upgrade how do you find out about it? I'm sure if it's a room upgrade you find out when you arrive? But if they've upgraded you to another resort when do you find out? Surely it would be before you arrive wouldn't it? Just been curious about this.

Usually its done at the value level, when they've been oversold to a group. When that happens, guests are called about an upgrade. Recently, the upgrades have been to SSR. Every once in a while, a guest will need to be moved to another resort on shorter notice (for example, if they have emergency maintenance issues, guests who decide to stay later than planned, etc.) When that happens, the guest usually doesn't know until they arrive at the resort.
