Does anyone know how much per point an add-on contract might be for AKV or SS if purchased through Disney? I think it might be nice to just add to our existing contract, but then again the resale market is very tempting!

I'm trying to figure out with incentives, if the two would be comparable. Thanks!! :mickey:

Disney can't touch the SSR resale point costs. Unless they offer you a buy one/get one free type of deal.

It seems like the last ROFR Pass that I saw for SSR was in the high 60s. Right now Disney is selling points around $110 or so (I don't know exactly, because we only buy resale!) You would have to wait for a super incredible deal to make up the $40+ difference.

Hmmm...so does Disney sell all points at the same amount? I guess I thought maybe the older resorts would sell for less than say, BLT...not that AKV and SSR are that old. I suppose it makes sense though that all the points they sell are priced the same. Thanks!

I'm not sure they are. When we bought they were selling SSR, we were able to get WL and the points were lower.

I just double checked the current prices per point for DVC resorts. I said "around $110" because I didn't know what each one cost, but I knew an average. I didn't mean to imply they all sold for the same amount.

This info is from DVCNews.com. The Special Offers vary according to where you're buying. Special Offers are only available with purchases at AKL, BLT, and VGC.

I looked over a ROFR list on another site and confirmed that SSR resales are going for anywhere from $60 to $75 per point right now.

AKL:

$112 base price less $8 promotional discount; 100 points
$112 base price less $8 promotional discount; 160-199 points

Something to consider. Disney gets the points to sell on older resorts by exercising their first right of refusal from someone selling in the resale market. In other words, they are buying in the resale market too, then uplifting the price to sell direct.

I'm pretty sure that's how it usually works.

Good luck with your decision!
