We had to put our dear old dog, Rory, down tonight. He would have been 13 in August. The poor old boy has been fading away over the past few months, and tonight when my DH and the boys got home, Rory couldn't even get up or raise his head. He was a lovely, gentle boy, and will be sorely missed by our family, and the other 3 dogs in his pack.

I am so sorry to hear this. While we don't have any pets, I do know it has to be so hard to let them go.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. I just went through this as well a few weeks ago, my lab was 12 as well. It is so hard, but knowing he had a good life with a loving family is a wonderful thing for him. I'm sure Rory is playing with my Holly right now, happy as can be! Take care, it does get easier in time.

:( Sadly this seems to be a recurring thread lately, we lost our best friend 2 months ago and I'm so sorry for your loss. It's never easy is it/

Things like that have happend to me. When we put our old dog Duke down he couldn't get up or move, he cried and so did we. I'm very sorry :(
