May 25, 1908 – Barbara Luddy, the voice of many Disney animated characters, such as Kanga in “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh,” and Merryweather in “Sleeping Beauty,” was born in Great Falls, Montana.
May 25, 1931 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “The China Plate” was released.
May 25, 1932 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Mickey’s Revue” was released. (This was the 1st appearance of a character that would become Goofy.)
May 25, 1933 – The Silly Symphony short “The Three Little Pigs” premiered at Radio City Music Hall in N.Y.C. for one week. It was Disney’s 36th Silly Symphony and the seventh in Technicolor.
May 25, 1935 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “Cookie Carnival” was released.
May 25, 1936 – The New York Journal printed some outspoken opinions expressed by Jerome Kern (Composer of such classics as “The Song Is You,” and “Old Man River.”) Kern’s words included: “Cartoonist Walt Disney has made the 20th century’s only important contribution to music. Disney has made use of music as language.”
May 25, 1944 – Puppeteer, actor and film director Frank Oz was born Richard Oznowicz in Hereford, England. He is the voice of Fungus in Disney’s 2001 animated release “Monsters, Inc.” (Star Wars fans will know him as the Jedi Master Yoda.)
May 25, 1947 – Emmy Award-winning Karen Valentine was born in Sebastopol, Ca. Her Disney live-action credits included the 1979 “The North Avenue Irregulars” and the 1978 “Hot Lead and Cold Feet.”
May 25, 1955 – Disney’s “Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier” aired on TV.
May 25, 1955 – Disney’s “Arizona Sheepdog” was released.
