Does anyone know if the RnR refurb is done? It was scheduled for May 15-20, and I'm hoping the ride is open when we arrive on Sunday! TIA!

I just checked the wait times on my iphone app and RnRC has a 60 minute wait right now. Earlier this week is was listed as "CL".

So I would assume it's back open. Have fun!!

I think I missed this somewhere - what changed? We just got back from WDW last Sunday, May 16th and didn't hear it was going down...

It opened Friday May 21, just in time for Star Wars weekends. I was there :)

Verizon has a park info plan. Not sure how it works but there were ads on the buses and tv.

We just returned from our trip last week. We love RnRC. Now, it's been two years since our last trip, but the difference I noticed was the music during the ride. I remember the music was old school, high energy, very recognizable Aerosmith. However, this trip, the music must be newer Aerosmith and it just didn't seem to fit as well with the ride. That's simply my observation. But, I have no idea when the soundtrack for the ride changed.

Actually, the soundtracks are different for each of the cars...I saw a list some time back that listed what songs played in each car, but can't recall where that was. My DH rode it on 5/23 and didn't notice any changes, other than they were still working on the outside of the building.

It is true that the music you hear depends on which car you ride, which is determined by its front license plate wording.

Repeating from this thread:

Is Aerosmith still presenting RnR? I had heard that their sponsorship was going away. Any idea of what music might replace their's if it is true?

There isn't an app for the Iphone that I know of, but if you point your mobile browser to http://m.disneyworld.go.com/ this has most of the same info as the Verizon app. My wife has verizon and I have Sprint (Blackberry) and the info was pretty close. Have a great time :mickey:

This rumour went around Intercot a while back. I think the eventual consensus was that it probably wasn't true. The deal is due to expire in a year or so but it doesn't really seem to be in either side's interest to not renew it. Aerosmith get publicity and Disney have a big name from the world of rock to associate with the ride.

There were also suggestions that it could be an excuse to tie the ride in with Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers. I can't see this being the case since neither can really be called rock. Also it's worth pointing out that a lot of fans of the above will either be too small to ride or not wanting to ride a big rollercoaster so in terms of marketing it wouldn't make sense. Some suggested using a band like Kiss but my view is they don't have the same universal appeal as a band like Aerosmith.
