Has anyone ever recorded how many miles they walk at the parks? In particular, MK and Epcot?

We 've never clocked it, but I maintain that we walk 4000 miles per day at WDW

Yeah, my Mother has worn a pedometer into the parks a bunch of times.

On a typical day she clocks around 9 miles.

20 plus miles in a week's trip...NOT going to the parks everyday.

I think the "official average" is 8 miles a day. However, your milage may vary...:D

We figured it out once and for us, it was 9-10 miles a day. :walk:

I would have to agree with the 4000 miles per day.

If I factor in the mileage put on at DTD carrying bags for the girls, I would be closer to 5000 miles. :D

I would guess at about 10 miles a day. I know we do the deluxe dinning plan and never gain any weight. Sometimes we come home with a small loss.

Oh, to lose weight! I usually do lose a couple pounds on a week long vacation. I guess I have other things to do besides think about what I'm going to eat next. I expect that my legs will be killing me around day two!

My sister and I were there for 3 days in the parks, and we clocked 74,000 steps by my pedometer. I think that works out to about 10 miles per day.

We sure felt every one of those steps at the end of the day. :D

I have a pedometer in my cell phone, and always track my mileage. We've ranged anywhere between 12 to 20 miles a day, with an average around 14 miles. The highest days seem to be at MK just because there is so much to do, going back and forth, whereas at Epcot we usually don't back track too much and hit the front first and then once aroound world showcase.

We average about 8-9 miles a day, according to our pedometer. Our high was 16 miles at Epcot. That was a trip where we decided just to do what we felt like at the moment, so it was a lot of back and forth.

We tracked with a Pedometer back in 2001. Were were as high as 11 miles to as low as 4 miles.

I wore a pedometer a few years ago. We did between 6-9 miles a day. That's one of the great things about a disney vacation. I eat anything and everything I want on vacation and have ALWAYS lost weight while I was there!

I agree that it is between 8 to 10 miles a day
but it seems like more than that at times.
BEEN THERE, DONE THAT JUST LAST WEEK
AND WILL GO BACK IN OCTOBER!!!! :D

I often go to WDW with friends that are younger than I am and we like to Park Hop to get to ADR's and such. Even with comfortable shoes, we experience a couple of blisters. I'm thinking 9 miles minimum for my party. Good thing, too, because of all the food we put away!

YES! That's why we can do a couple of family style buffets on our trips!:D

I've always wondered how many miles I've walked. I would hate to know during my time there because I would always be checking. And when I got to 5-6 miles my mental being would change, and I would start to feel sore.

Walking has never really bothered me but the standing kills my back.

We average about 10 miles a day. Last August I set a record on my pedometer with 27,252 steps, or about 14 miles. Luckily we have a fitness program at work that gives us Visa gift cards when we reach certain step goals, so I don't mind the steps at all.

As many as I need to! I've never recorded it, and it's not that important to me to know.

We have thought about this recently, we figured it's a lot and having been away from WDW for 6 years we're out of practice. We're planning to get some long walks done over the summer to get used to it.

We had one walk recently through the fields by our house, was 4.5-5 miles plus fighting through a very overgrown path through a wood. Another one that would be good practice is the 14 mile 'Silkin Way' that goes from one side of Telford to the other, 14 miles.

One thing we probably won't have for practice is the heat. I guess we could do the walks wrapped up in big jumpers and coats... but I'm saying 'no' to that. :ill:

Reading the comments about WDW walking and weight loss...

I should probably go to WDW more often and kick start my diet plan! O'Hana here I come...

Those of you with pedometers - which brands do you have? Every one I get seems to be pretty poor and they register more steps than I've actually taken.

Mine did that too the one time I tried it. Everytime I got on a ride it counted all the bumping around as steps.
