Hello,

My family is planning a trip to WDW in late August (8/24 - 8/30), which is at the early end of Value season and the Free Dining period.

What are the crowd sizes at this time of year?

I've been in May, October, and April, and am wondering how the crowds will compare.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The later in the month you go, the better. Crowds begin to drop off at the very end of August though they can still be quite high through the third week or so.

You may be surprised with the crowds that time of year. We did the first week of Sept. last year and the crowds were minimal.
Walked on most rides. The heat may be another story for you. You may spend more time in the pool. Hope you have a great time.

Thanks Linda!

Thanks Renecat! I'm sure hoping that we have minimal crowds, but we'll see.

We've been twice in late August, and twice in early May, and found the crowds to be pretty comparable, probably a little less in late August.

The real problem, as has already been stated is the heat. We found that a mid-day break was a must, as was making good use of air-conditioned attractions.
