2002. It was "100 Years of Magic" Celebration, which was really great. It was also my Honeymoon. And finally, it was the only trip I've taken in the summer....I learned my lesson.

I think it was 75 or 76. Was it even called WDW back then? There was only the Magic Kingdom I believe.

October, 1971. I was 15. The Magic Kingdom had only been open a few weeks. The Contemporary and Polynesian hotels were there, but not much else. No Epcot, no other parks or resorts. There was no Space Mountain, Splash Mountain or Big Thunder yet, but it did have 20K Under the Sea. We camped off-site. Had to buy the old A-E ticket books, each ride required use of a ticket. I still have some of those old A tickets.

Summer 1978. I was 4, my younger sister was 2 (my youngest sister was around 6 months old, she stayed behind at my aunt's house).

I don't remember anything about the trip. I do remember coming home & taping a Disney map to the wall (it was pretty big). I don't remember the picture being taken, but we did have a picture of my & my younger sister w/Snow White :mickey: I think it got lost in a basement flood.

After that trip, I didn't get back to WDW until 1997 (1996?) and have been going every year since :D

First trip to WDW was in June, 1980 for our 5th wedding anniversary.

Now DisneyLAND is another story. My first trip there was on Opening Day - August 17, 1955. I wasn't quite 2yo but I was there!!!!!

I went with my family as a 12 year old in 1983. I wish I could remember more about it. We spent one day in MK and one day in the relatively new Epcot. The attractions I remember most are Space Mountain, Carousel of Progress, Spaceship Earth, and Universe of Energy. My sister and I were also delighted by the fountains near the Imagination Pavilion.

We stayed at the High Q in Orlando. We were very near Wet and Wild water park. It was the first water park we had ever been to.

It was the summer of either 1969 or 1970 before MK opened. We stopped to see my dad who was working construction. Main Street was not even paved. I remember there was a guest book that we each signed. I still wonder what happened to that book.
Of course we were there on opening day. I haven't miss an opening yet. MK is still my favorite.

August 1974...I was 13. Not much there, as compared to now, but, ohhh...I thought it was the greatest place ever. So great, that in 1980, DD and I spent our belated honeymoon / 1st anniversary there. And this year, will be there for our 31st anniversary w/our teenage DD. Some things have remained comfortably the same, and alot of things have changed. Some good, and some not-so-good. But one thing that hasn't changed is our love for the World!:cloud9:

Yes. It was going to be called Disney World prior to Walt Disney's death. After Walt's death and before the resort opened, Roy Disney had the name changed to Walt Disney World.

What I remember:

First day, we walk in at about 2:30, walk into Exposition Hall to get buttons (they were giving these out to all guest with the date of first visit on them). Then we checked out a small model of Animal Kingdom.

When we walked out, the 3:00 parade was going on and we walked up to a parade spot! (those were the days. :mickey:)

The castle was a huge Pink birthday cake (25th anniversary). I thought it was odd... really did not know that it was not always that way.

It was fantastic! I had never been anywhere like it before. To me, it was amazing how much the used your senses to make a 'ride' fun! :mickey:

:mickey:I know I went in the very early 80s a couple of times, before I was 6 years old. My only memories are pictures. My first memorable trip would have been in 1989, I think, I was around 11. Next trip high school graduation in 1997. :party2:Then 2009 with my hubby for our 7th anniversary (belated honeymoon)! Am now completely hooked and addicted!! Trying to get there again this year!.

October 2000, it was for the Notre Dame Navy football game. I remember getting my DH 's alumni magazine in the mail that said "O'Mickey, see the Irish and visit Mickey Mouse" I cut it out and taped it to the fridge. My DH knew he was stuck, my two favorite things combined. and we have been back three times since with a trip coming this year!:mickey:

Mine was 2003 - we went with some friends who worked for the military. At the time Shades of Green was closed for renovations, so we got a STUPID EXTREME KILLER deal at Contemporary. I'd never been to WDW before but even *I* knew that was a dream trip!

The summer of 1975, I was 5 years old and deathly afraid of the monorail. We lost our car in the parking lot.

I believe it was Aug. of 1996, the year of the pink cake castle. I was 19 years old. I wish I had gone as a child, but my parent's went a few years before I was born with my brother's and never returned.

1986. I was 4 years old, and subsequently don't remember a great deal about the trip. I do recall staying in one of the wings of the Contemporary Resort, and being enthralled by Figment. And the soda machine on our floor.

2006 for WDW and I've been addicted ever since. I'm from California so Disneyland was my first experience back in 1978.

Went for the first time in 1971 shortly after it opened. I don't remember anything because I was only a few months old. We went most summers as kids and then stopped when we were in middle school. Went every year of high school with the choir and sang in the candelight processional (which was at MK then). First time as a mom was in 2000 when son was 15 months. Have been back every year since!
