Apr. 18, 1927 – Disney’s Alice Comedy “Alice’s Circus Daze” was released.
Apr. 18, 1941 – Disney’s Goofy short “Baggage Buster” was released.
Apr. 18, 1946 – Actress Hayley Mills, who made her American Film debut in Disney’s “Polyanna”, was born in London, England.
Apr. 18, 1947 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Straight Shooters” was released.
Apr. 18, 1947 – Actor James Woods, the voice of the villainous Hades in Disney’s animated “Hercules,” was born in Vernel, Utah.
Apr. 18, 1950 – Award-winning director, choreographer, and producer Kenny Ortega, was born in Palo Alto, Ca. His Disney credits include “Newsies,” “High School Musical,” and “The Cheetah Girls 2.”
Apr. 18, 1951 – Disney Imagineer and author Bruce Gordon was born. He would work on such Disneyland attractions as “Splash Mountain,” “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh,” “Tarzan’s Treehouse,” and “Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.”
Apr. 18, 1953 – The Mickey Mouse cartoon “The Simple Things”, featuring the voice of Jimmy MacDonald as Mickey was released.
Apr. 18, 1954 – Actor Rick Moranis, the voice of Tuke in Disney’s animated 2003, “Brother Bear”, and Wayne Szalinski in “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Apr. 18, 1955 – Newsweek magazine ran an article about Walt Disney’s “universe” of new TV shows, film and theme park titled “A Wonderful World.”
