Apr. 14, 1934 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “The Big Bad Wolf” was released.
Apr. 14, 1936 – Kenneth Mars, the voice of Triton in Disney’s 1989 film, “The Little Mermaid”, was born in Chicago, Il.
Apr. 14, 1936 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon, “Three Little Wolves” was released.
Apr. 14, 1960 – Comedian-actor Brad Garnett, the voice of Bloat in the 2003 “Finding Nemo” and the voice of Fred in the 2002 “The Country Bears,” was born in Woodland Hills, Ca. (TV fans would recognize him for his Emmy-Award-winning role of Robert Barone on the series Everybody Loves Raymond.)
Apr. 14, 1962 – The 1st “Spring Fling” Entertainment Event took place at Disneyland, continuing for the next decade.
Apr. 14, 1967 – Disneyland’s annual Easter Parade took place with Annette Funicello as the Grand Marshall. The parade also featured a new Dapper Dans quartet riding on a 4-seater bicycle.
Apr. 14, 1969 – Disney won an Oscar (Short Subjects, Cartoons) for “Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day” at the 41st Academy Awards.
Apr. 14, 1980 – Although nominated for Best Visual Effects, Peter Ellenshaw, Art Cruickshank, Eustace Lycett, Danny Lee, Harrison Ellenshaw and Joe Hale (the team that worked on Disney’s “The Black Hole”), were edged out by the team who worked on Alien, at the 52nd Annual Academy Awards.
Apr. 14, 1984 – The new “Alice in Wonderland” attraction opened in Fantasyland at Disneyland.
Apr. 14, 1989 – The Disney/Touchstone Film “Disorganized Crime” was released.
