Apr. 11, 1925 – Roy O. Disney and Edna Francis were married at the home of Roy’s uncle, Robert S. Disney, in Hollywood, Ca.
Apr. 11, 1929 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse short “When the Cat’s Away,” was released.
Apr. 11, 1930 – The Disney Mickey Mouse short “Cactus Kid” was released. It is the last Mickey short to be animated by Ub Iwerks (who weeks before left the Disney Studios.)
Apr. 11, 1947 – Actor Meshach Taylor, who in 1998-1999 made his Broadway debut as Lumiere in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” was born in Boston, Massachusetts.
Apr. 11, 1980 – To help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Disneyland, the Dapper Dans of Florida, were flown to assist their compatriots in Main Street.
Apr. 11, 1986 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Off Beat” was released.
Apr. 11, 1992 – Disneyland’s “Beauty and the Beast” show opened in Videopolis. (Closed Apr. 30, 1995)
Apr. 11, 1992 – Disney’s TV special “Grand Opening of Euro Disney” aired on CBS.
Apr. 11, 1992 – Euro Disney held a press preview day, before the parks opening to the public the next day.
Apr. 11, 1994 – The hour long Disney Talk Show “Mike & Maty” began airing on ABC. (Ended June 7, 1996)
