Apr. 7, 1928 – Actor James Garner, the voice of Commander Lyle Tiberius Rourke in Disney’s 2001 “Atlantis: The Lost Empire”, was born in Norman, Ok.
Apr. 7, 1939 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “The Ugly Duckling” was released in color.
Apr. 7, 1939 – Sound recording for Disney’s newest feature “Fantasia” began. (The project would consume a half million feet of sound film during 42 days of recording.)
Apr. 7, 1950 – Disney’s Pluto cartoon “Wonder Dog” was released.
Apr. 7, 1954 – Disney’s Chip and Dale cartoon “The Lone Chipmunks” was released.
Apr. 7, 1957 – Parade magazine featured “Luckiest Boy in the World” a cover story on Cast Member (and future Disney Legend) Tom Nabbe, Disneyland’s first Tom Sawyer.
Apr. 7, 1964 – Actor Russell Crowe, who played John Biebe in Disney’s 1999 comedy “Mystery, Alaska”, (also known as “Hockey Project”) was born in Wellington, New Zealand.
Apr. 7, 1968 – Disney’s part-2 of the television show “The Mystery of Edward Sims,” aired. (Part-1 aired Mar. 31, 1968)
Apr. 7, 1970 – Disney won an Oscar at the 42nd Academy Awards for “It’s Tough to be a Bird”.
Apr. 7, 1983 – “Carrie Stahl” was the 150,000,000th guest to visit WDW.
