WV Mine Tragedy

Please remember the families of the miners that have been killed in WV in your thoughts and prayers. As of now, 25 are confirmed dead with 4 still missing. This mine is about 30 miles from my home and in the community where my parents lived early in their marriage. So very sad, my heart goes out to those involved.

It's a terrible thing, especially after all the other recent mining tragedies in the state. It's a stark reminder of how dangerous the mining industry can be, regardless of how many safety features they put into place. I'll be praying for the families.

So sad; although I've never lived in WV, I visited often as my grandparents lived in Lincoln Co til their deaths. Coal mining was 'near and dear' to us as many family members worked the mines as I was growing up. My grandfather mined coal until his later years, when he started working with a company repairing mine equipment. It's always been there for my mom, especially.
