Apr. 1, 1924 – Disney’s Alice’s “Spooky Adventure” was released.
Apr. 1, 1938 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “The Moth and the Flame” was released.
Apr. 1, 1946 – Animated Frank Thomas returned to work at the Disney Studio after serving 4 years in the Army Air Corps.
Apr. 1, 1950 – Episode 28 of The Ed Wynn Show aired on TV. Wynn’s variety show featured the “Firehouse Five Plus Two,” a Dixieland band made up of Disney employees. (Wynn would go on to play Uncle Albert in the 1964 “Mary Poppins.”
Apr. 1, 1955 – “Blame It on the Samba” a segment of Melody Time was released.
Apr. 1, 1960 – The Disney TV show aired “The Mad Hermit of Chimney Butte.”
Apr. 1, 1960 – Reader’s Digest ran an article “Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom.” The article describes Disneyland – Walt’s “31-million-dollar playground.”
Apr. 1, 1962 – The Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color aired “Spy in the Sky.”
Apr. 1, 1973 – The Disney TV show “Call It Courage” aired.
Apr. 1, 1974 – “Pioneer Hall” located in Fort Wilderness opened at WDW.
