View Full Version : Rock n Roller Coaster down for rehab

I just read on another site that the Rock N Roller Coaster is going down for refurb May 15-20th. I know it's not posted here yet or on the Disney website yet, but they are pretty good at posting accurate info. Just an FYI for those of you planning a trip during this time. Again - it's unofficial until it's put up on Disney's website, but a good "heads up" anyways.

Whew! We're gonna just barely beat that, as we'll be there the week before, and that's my DW's favorite ride! If that was going to be down while we are there....that would dampen the whole vacation.

But then I realized we'll be there just before it starts (May 9-16) :cloud9:

Again - it's unofficial until Disney posts it, but I have yet to see them post a rehab which wasn't accurate a week or so later. Regardless, even if you plan on being there that week - May 15-20 is a Saturday - Thursday....so there is still a Friday open if you are there that week and this happens.

It is official. I went to the Disney Website and went to the calendar for Hollywood Studios for May, clicking on the 15th this is what it says:

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster® Starring Aerosmith
Closed for Refurbishment (Saturday, May 15 - Thursday, May 20)

Good thing it closes 2 weeks after my trip, I would be very sad if this ride was closed :sob:

Oh no!!! I sincerely hope it is up by May 23rd - that's when we arrive and one of the ways I enticed my DD to be excited about this trip (I received a "been there, done that" response at first when I told her about the trip) was that RnRC was on refurb her last trip and it was her favorite ride her first trip!
Ahhhh....keeping fingers crossed.

I'm there May 8th-16th. I will be able to get my FIX in before it shuts down.:thumbsup:

Gosh darn it I will be there from the 15th to the 2oth and then leaving for our cruise... ah well it's not like I haven't rode it a dozen times before but it is one of the better coaster offerings they have...

I go May 13-16 with some first timers and the 15th was the day I had planned for that. They really want to ride it. Now all my plans have to change around this.

BEtter to know about it ahead of time and have plenty of time to work around it then to be there on the 15th without knowing it was going to be down! At least you will be there 2 days prior to the 1st day of it closing. If you are doing park hoppers, then maybe you can hit it first thing on either the 13th or 14th! Good luck to you!
