I remember a few years ago my husband and I went and had a drink at the bar at California Grill. I was wondering can we still do this and not have a meal there? Just sit at the bar and enjoy the surroundings?

From what I understand, you can't go up there without an ADR for CG anymore.

I too have heard that you need an ADR to get up to CG. The last time we dined there we all had to wait at the reception desk for an escort up to the CG. It makes sense that you would need an ADR if not then CG would end up as a mad house. I know that there are people that dine at the bar so I assume that they will allow it if there is room. Not sure how they regulate it. Good luck.

They will allow you to go up if space is available but it's not a given. One of the more unfortunate things about the way they do things now. It used to be one of my favorite spots to just have a drink and relax.

Just wondering if priority is given to those who are staying at the hotel? That would really gripe me if i was staying at the Contemporary and then denied access to the bar.
