Hi. I just found out that there will be a critical beach re-nourishment project going on during our upcoming trip to Vero Beach 3/31 to 4/4. And access to the beach areas on weekdays will be restricted. Does anyone have any info on this? thank you!

Hi! Sorry for the delay; just saw this post.

I have no info on the present project, but we were at Vero once before during a beach replenishment project. The beach area was closed, and for good reason... there were huge dump trucks driving along the beach bringing in sand, and a bulldozer was spreading it. It was definitely not a safe place to be during the construction, but the end result was well worth it. The beach was definitely wider, and the dunes had been restored - vital to protecting the property.

The bright side is that the ocean temp is still going to be on the cold side when you're there - low 60's. Present water temp a bit farther north is 57. (Florida had a record cold winter this year, and ocean temps dropped appreciably.) By contrast, the great heated pool at VB should be in the low 80's.

We arrived at Vero on March 30th and the beach at the resort was finished. Had a wonderful stay.
