Mar. 5, 1928 – Disney’s Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon “Rival Romeos” was released.
Mar. 5, 1932 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “The Mad Dog” was released.
Mar. 5, 1936 – Disney’s cartoon short “Three Orphan Kittens” won an Oscar at the 8th Annual Academy Awards.
Mar. 5, 1939 – Actress Samantha Eggar, the voice of Hera in Disney’s animated “Hercules,” was born in London, England. Her Disney credits also include the 1988 TV episode “Davy Crockett: Rainbow in the Thunder” as Ory Palmer.
Mar. 5, 1947 – Singer-actor Eddie Hodges was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. His Disney credits include “Summer Magic” (1963), and “The Happiest Millionaire” (1967).
Mar. 5, 1948 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Drip Dippy Donald” was released.
Mar. 5, 1950 – The first color comic strip of “Cinderella” was published in Sunday editions of newspapers.
Mar. 5, 1954 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Donald’s Diary” was released.
Mar. 5, 1955 – An Emmy Award for Best Individual Program of the Year was won for the Disneyland TV episode “Operation Undersea”. Walt Disney himself also won an Emmy Award for Most Outstanding New Personality.
Mar. 5, 1958 – The Disneyland TV series aired the 5th episode of The Saga of Andy Burnett, “White Man’s Medicine.”
