We have booked our trip for July with the DDP. The last time that we were there tipping was included in the plan. I understand that now it is not. My question is, do they automatically add gratuity for a party or is it up to you as to how much you leave for a tip?

It may depend on how big your party is. When we were there in December, at the bottom of the bill, they told you what 15%, 18% and 20% would be, but you could write in any amount.

6 heads at a table and 18% of the total bill is automagically added for gratuity... The age of those heads matters not.

What about tipping on a buffet? Is 10% a good rule of thumb? The servers really only bring drinks. Just curious.

Disney adds 18% at a buffet as well as table service locations for guests using Tables in Wonderland, so I have to assume they expect the 18% regardless.

I agree though 10% should be more than enough.

Just remember that this is paid by you now, it's no longer included on the DDP :mickey:

So would I be required to tip 18% at all my table service meals? I would not be able to tip according to service. There will be 10 people traveling with us in our party.

That's correct, if all 10 people in your group are eating TS meals together. If there are 6 or more people at the table, the 18% tip is added into the total bill and you have to pay that 18% out of your pocket.

If there are 5 or fewer people, the tip is up to you, but "tip suggestions" are printed on the receipt showing what an 18% tip would be and what a 20% tip would be. But, you ultimately get to decide what to leave.

Yep, once that 6th person pulls up a chair to your table, the 18% goes from a suggested amount to a required amount.

I have heard that Cinderella's Meal that gratuity is still included. Is that correct? Are there any other meals where this is the case?

Might not even be a regular chair, could be a high chair, even if they don't order anything! That's why I mentioned a head count.

Tip is still included at Hoop Dee Doo Review, although it takes 2 TS credits. Well worth it.
