Mar. 3, 1845 – Florida becomes the 27th state to join the United States of America when President John Tyler (on the last day of his administration) signed into law the act granting statehood to Florida’s 57,921 inhabitants.
Mar. 3, 1906 – Don Novis, The Golden Horseshoe’s Irish Tenor, was born in East Sussex, Englad.
Mar. 3, 1934 – The Mickey Mouse cartoon “Playful Pluto” was released.
Mar. 3, 1937 – Bobby Driscoll, the voice of Peter Pan in Disney 1953 classic film, and also appeared in the 1950 film “Treasure Island” as Jim Hawkins; and the 1946 film “Song of the South” as Johnny, was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Mar. 3, 1950 – Disney’s special cartoon “The Brave Engineer” was released.
Mar. 3, 1957 – The first annual Disneyland Pancake Races kicked off for a 3-day event.
Mar. 3, 1963 – The Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color aired “A Square Peg in a Round Hole.”
Mar. 3, 1967 – The Disney TV movie “The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin” was released.
Mar. 3, 1974 – The Disney television show “Ringo, the Refugee Racoon” was released.
Mar. 3, 1975 – Albert Fields, a member of the 90’s TV show “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” was born.
