I heard it was closing in 2010. We are planning our 2nd trip to the World and did not get to see it our first time. Anyone know when it exactly be closing?:mickey:

:welcome: to Intercot!!!

No word has been given on the official date of Toontown closing. The first phase of the Fantasyland expanion has begun, but they'll do all the behind the scenes work first before they close Toontown, so it's possible Toontown will still be around until 2011. We just don't know yet.

After the rehab is done, what will be gone from Toontown? Hopefully Goofy's coaster and Donald's boat will stay. They are my DS3 favorites!

Only Goofy's Barnstormer will remain, though it will be rethemed to something else. Everything else will be gone. This isn't a refurb. This is a full on demolition and building of a whole new land for WDW. Well, actually an expansion of Fantasyland, but it'll feel like a whole new land and they're calling it Fantasyland Forest so, in essence, it will be.

Does anyone know if they have begun tearing anything down yet. We will be there in April and that is one area that we have never really visited much. Would hate to miss seeing it.

No, not yet. Currently they are doing all the work backstage. The only visible work is they are moving the tree from Pooh's Playful Spot over to the new que area for the Pooh ride. So, it sounds like the Playful spot playground will be gone soon but everything else is still there and should be for a little while.

Internal speculation is that Toontown Fair will remain open through at least the Summer 2010.

An official detailed time line of events concerning the construction has yet to be announced.

Wish they could move the houses to another place on property. :cloud9:

I still think DHS is the best spot, just like in Roger Rabbit, you could have a real toontown!

Contrary to the original implication, it was announced at a recent D23 event that the houses will not be razed.

No further details on how they will be preserved was announced.

See Melanears's post here (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?p=2024917#post2024917)for the full list of announcements at the D23 event.

Thanks for posting that the houses won't be destroyed. I know I had read somewhere that they said they were moving them, not destroying them....
This just confirms that. :)
