I heard free Valet parking for DVC was discontinued. is this true ?

That is unfortunately correct. I believe free valet to DVC members ceased somewhere around October of last year . . .

Yes it's been gone for some time now.

We get around the valet charge this way. Last Sat night, we ate in Epcot but valet the car at the Boardwalk. On the walk back, we stopped at the ESPN Club and purchased a soda to go. I used the Tables in Wonderland card for the 20% discount. Showing this receipt to the valet got us free valet parking, plus the cost of the soda... $ 2.25. better than $ 12 dollars.

Medically necessary valet is still complimentary.

Valet is not free unless you have a medical condition that necessitates the valet - at the BW or anywhere else.

Self parking isn't close at the BW. One of the few DVC properties where that exists (VWL being the other). It's not terrible, but it's a removed parking lot from the resort.
