A family that we know - their 14 year old daughter had a massive stroke and is now brain dead. She felt strange, a relative rushed her to a hospital and she had the stroke. She had not been sick.

So sad :(

After living about 5 days after they took Amanda off life support - she died. A real tragedy but i am glad she didn't have to be on life support a long time and when she was taken off, she was brain dead so it was really hard on the family when she didn't pass away as quickly as the doctors thought she would.

Oh that's so sad. I'm an RN on a stroke unit, and they can be so devastating. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and her's.

I am very sorry for this family's loss. Life is precious and people often take it for granted. No one is guaranteed their next breath, and we should cherish every moment with have with each other even if they are young or old.

My prayers and thoughts go out to the family at this unbelievably difficult time. :(
