Feb. 22, 1732 – George Washington, our country’s first President, was born in Virginia. Visit him and all the U.S. leaders in the WDW’s “Hall of Presidents” attraction.
Feb. 22, 1908 - Actor John Mills, who played Father Robinson in Disney’s 1960 film “Swiss Family Robinson” was born in Felixstone, Suffolk, England.
Feb. 22, 1924 – Walt Disney shipped his 3rd Alice Comedy film, “Alice’s Spooky Adventure” to M.J. Winkler Productions in N.Y.
Feb. 22, 1964 – The below decks exhibit of the attraction “Columbia Sailing Ship” opened to guests.
Feb. 22, 1971 – Tony-award winning actress Lea Salonga, the singing voice of Disney’s “Mulan” and the singing voice of Jasimine for “Aladdin,” was born Maria Lea Carmen Imutan Salonga in the Philipines.
Feb. 22, 1987 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “Parent Trap II,” starring Hayley Mills.
Feb. 22, 1988 – Actual film production at Disney-MGM Studios began before the park officially opened in 1989, as “Splash Too” began shooting in on of the Park’s soundstages.
Feb. 22, 1991 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Scenes from a Mall” was released.
Feb. 22, 1996 - Disney Online launched Disney.com to promote a wide variety of Disney products on the Internet.
Feb. 22, 2000 - Disney’s Broadway show “Aida” previewed at Palace Theatre in New York City.
