Feb. 19, 1941 – Disney’s Technicolor film, “Fantasia” opened in Chicago, Il. (The film has been out in release since November 1940.)
Feb. 19, 1943 – Disney’s Pluto cartoon “Pluto and the Armadillo” was released.
Feb. 19, 1952 – The Disney short “Hello Aloha” was released by RKO. Directed by Jack Kinney, this cartoon finds Goofy living out the working-man’s dream of walking away from his job and moving to a tropical island paradise.
Feb. 19, 1955 – Actor Jeff Daniels, who appeared in “101 Dalmatians” was born in Athens, Georgia.
Feb. 19, 1956 – The “Keller’s Jungle Killers” Wild Animal Show began performing at Disneyland. (Ended Sept. 7, 1956)
Feb. 19, 1960 – The Walt Disney Presents TV show aired episode 10 of “Texas John Slaughter: Apache Friendship.”
Feb. 19, 1961 – Walt Disney Presents aired part-1of its 2-part movie “Westward Ho! The Wagons.” (Part-2 aired Feb. 26, 1961)
Feb. 19, 1967 – An article titled “Florida’s Disney World Aims at ’70 Opening” appeared in the Sunday New York Times.
Feb. 19, 1967 – The Disney TV show aired “The Boy Who Flew with Condors.”
Feb. 19, 1985 – Mickey Mouse was welcomed in China as part of the 30th anniversary of Disneyland.
