Feb. 13, 1930 – “Autumn,” the third 4 seasons symphony was released. It was directed by Ub Iwerks and released through Columbia Pictures.
Feb. 13, 1933 – Artist Eric Larson married Gertude Jannes in Utah. With marriage, he will seek a new job with greater potential. (Larson would go on to work with the Disney Studio and become one of Walt’s “Nine Old Men.”)
Feb. 13, 1952 – Disney’s True-Life Adventure film “The Olympic Elk” was released.
Feb. 13, 1957 – The Disney TV show “Tricks of Our Trade” aired.
Feb. 13, 1959 – The Disney TV show aired “Duck Files Coop.”
Feb. 13, 1965 - Disney’s live action and animated film “Freeway Phobia” starring Goofy, was released.
Feb. 13, 1966 – Disney’s part-1 of its 2-part movie “The Legend of Young Dick Turpin” aired. (part-2 aired Feb. 20, 1966)
Feb. 13, 1973 – A Valentine Dance (sponsored by the WDW Recreation Club) was held for Disney World Cast Members at the Contemporary Hotel’s Ballroom of the America’s.
Feb. 13, 1976 - Animator John Lounsbery, one of Walt’s “Nine Old Men”, and known for his work on, “Dumbo”, “Melody Time”, and “Robin Hood”, died in California.
Feb. 13, 1976 – On The Mike Douglas Show, Anita Bayant concluded her co-hosting duties from Florida’s WDW. (Her guests included Dean Jones, and 5 former Mouseketeers: Annette Funicello, Tommy Cole, Bobby Burgess, Cubby O’Brien and Darlene Gillespie Gammon. Also featured was a visit to the Polynesian Village for a Luau and a fireworks display.
