Feb. 9, 1773 – William Henry Harrison, the 9th U.S. President, was born at the Berkley Plantation in Charles City County, Va. He could be visited along with all the U.S. Chief Executives at the “Hall of Presidents “ attraction in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Feb. 9, 1914 - Bill Justice, Disney programmer for Audio-Animatronic and animator was born in Dayton, Ohio.
Feb. 9, 1940 - Disney’s animated feature film “Pinocchio” opened in Los Angeles theaters, 2 days after its premiere in New York.
Feb. 9, 1946 – Vincent Frances Papale. A former part-time bartender/substitute teacher who went on to play professional football with the Philadelphia Eagles, was born in Pennsylvania. Despite playing just one year of high school football and having no college football experience, Papale went on to play in the NFL at age 30, making him the league’s oldest rookie! His story is the basis for the 2006 Disney live-action film “Invincible.”
Feb. 9, 1951 - Disney’s Pluto cartoon “Cold Storage” was released.
Feb. 9, 1955 – Disney’s True-Life Adventure film “Progress Report, A Nature’s Half Acre” was released.
Feb. 9, 1962 – The Disney film “Moon Pilot” was released.
Feb. 9, 1964 - Singer-actor Scott Craig, from the 1977 - 1978 TV show “The New Mouseketeers” was born in Los Angeles.
Feb. 9, 1964 – Disney’s part-1 of the 3-part TV movie “The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh” aired. (Part-2 aired Feb. 16, 1964, Part-3 aired Feb. 23, 1964)
Feb. 9, 1969 – Disney’s part-1 of its 3-part TV movie “The Secret of Boyne Castle” aired.
