Jan. 30, 1882 – Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd U.S. President, was born in Hyde Park, N.Y. He could be visited along with all the U.S. Chief Executives at the “Hall of Presidents” attraction in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Jan. 30, 1884 - Eddie Collins, the performance model for Dopey in “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was born in N.J.
Jan. 30, 1924 – Author Lloyd Alexander was born in Philadelphia, Pa. His “Chronicles of Prydain” would be the inspiration for Disney’s animated feature the Black Cauldron.
Jan. 30, 1934 – Disney Legend Bob Matheison was born in Portland, Or. He would act as director of operations for Disneyland and later vice president of the Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
Jan. 30, 1951 – Singer-songwriter & drummer Phil Collins was born in London, England. He’s composed music for such Disney features as Brother Bear and Tarzan. (Music fans know him best for his solo work and as a member of Genesis.)
Jan. 30, 1957 – The Disney TV show aired “All About Magic.”
Jan. 30, 1957 – Golfer Payne Stewart (who won the 1983 WDW Golf Classic) was born.
Jan. 30, 1959 - Disney’s “The Peter Tchaikovsky Story” aired on television.
Jan. 30, 1966 – The Disney TV show aired “Music for Everybody.”
Jan. 30, 1971 – Disneyland hosted the first of a 2-day event called “Alice in Wonderland Days.”
