Went to Cindy's Royal Table for the first time on Jan 25 at around 6:30. We had a dinner planned and showed up 30 minutes early. No problem - check in ladies were wonderful. The problem began when we were waiting on line for our picture with Cindy. We were waiting at the velvet rope, and our 8 year old daughter was touching the rope - let me preface this with the fact that we are VERY concious parents, maybe too much on top of what our kids are doing at all times. Well, this nasty, condescending female cast member who was assisting the photographer yelled at my daughter and then proceeded to reprimand me and my husband. She was like the rope nazi!!! Yelling at every child who touched the rope. She even yelled at a foreign speaking mother to lift up her daughter's princess dress because her "girls were showing." The girl was bout 4. I emailed Disney about this, unfortunately, the cast memeber did not have a name tag on. I just described her, her job, and the time and place. Needless to say, this soured my whole experience. Thank God for the Fairy God Mother and her bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!!!!!

I'm so sorry that what should have been a magical experience was marred by such an obnoxious person.

The last time we were there (for my 39th birthday), we had a condescending, rude and just plain ol' nasty server. Needless to say, we've never felt the need to go back after that debacle! I think I enjoyed the free birthday turkey leg that a CM gave me from Auntie Gravitie's later that evening than I did the CRT dinner . . . :(

When our children were little (teens and older now) we wanted to try a CRT dining experience. What a mistake! Check in was fine and it is a 'magical' place to dine, but the server was horrible! Rude to the point that we felt like we were unwanted and that it was beneath him to associate with us.
We tried again a couple of years later and we had similar results. Not as bad as the first time but the server seemed to be annoyed to even speak with us.
Needless to say we never returned.

I guess I'm not alone. The whole experience was just weird and un-Disneylike for us. I won't be back to that restaurant. However, can't wait to be back at the world for my neice's sweet 16 Aug 2011 - park/cruise!!!! Yay!!!!

I am sorry you had a bad experience.

I may be one of the few who actually had a good experience. Our first time there for lunch(DD was 5). Everything was great from beginning to end. I needed to use the restroom so they let us up stairs before lunch. The CM's up there let me take pictures of an empty dining room and gave my DD a cup of Mickey Mouse confetti.

The second time was for DD 7th birthday (also lunch). All the princesses signed a birthday card for DD and she had her birthday cupcake. Again all the CM's were fantastic.

Due to the fact that DD is now 10 and not into princesses we won't be going back, but not because of the service.

Maybe is was just a grouchy dinner time CM.

No, you're not the only one. I've had nothing but good experiences at CRT too.

OP, I'm sorry you had a bad experience there

We had the opposite problem at our breakfast there in 2007. The check-in staff were unpleasant--not rude, exactly, but you could just tell they hated their jobs.

Our server, however, was very pleasant.

We had breakfast there on Jan. 28. Everything was wonderful, the food was great, but like someone else mentioned, there was one lady who escorted people to their table that was semi-rude and had the most lackluster presentation ever. "Welcometoroyaltablecomethisway." It was like you were at iHop, not CINDERELLA'S CASTLE.

I asked her if it were okay if I went to the window to take pictures. Here response was "ummhmmm", but the way she said it was like I was just getting on her last nerve.

Other than that (and luckily we didn't have to deal with her much) the rest of the staff were top notch.
