Jan. 21, 1924 – Walt Disney shipped his 2nd Alice Comedy “Alice Hunting in Africa,” to M.J. Winkler Productions.
Jan. 21, 1925 – Actor Charles Aidman, who portrayed Mark Twain in the 1981 TV special “Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream,” was born in Indiana.
Jan. 21, 1930 - Animator Ub Iwerks, informed Roy Disney he was leaving the company, and Disney bought his 20% of shares of the company for $2920.00.
Jan. 21, 1933 - Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “The Mad Doctor” was released.
Jan. 21, 1935 – Artist Ollie Johnson was hired at $17 a week by the Disney Studio. (He would go on to become one of Walt’s “Nine Old Men.”)
Jan. 21, 1938 - Disney animator’s began work on “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”.
Jan. 21, 1955 – The formal announcement of the new $10,000 Disneyland Hotel an Anaheim was disclosed to the press nationwide. The hotel would be developed by Wrather-Alvarez Hotels, Inc., and designed by the architectural firm of Pereira and Luckman.
Jan. 21, 1956 - Actor Robby Benson, the voice of Beast, from the movie “Beauty and the Beast” was born in Dallas, Tx.
Jan. 21, 1956 – The “Dairy Bar” Food Facility sponsored by the American Dairy Association opened in Tomorrowland at Disneyland. (Closed Sept.1, 1958)
Jan. 21, 1959 - Actor Michael Wincott, the voice of Skroopf, from the Disney movie “Treasure Planet” was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
