How were crowds last week? Jan 9 - 16

We will be booking our trip next month for our 1st DVC trip for Jan 8 - 15th 2011. Was wondering how were the crowds & wait times at the parks. Also how was it during marathon weekend as this is the weekend we would be arriving. Never been before in Jan but we do know to expect closures in all parks for refurbs etc.

I was at MK on Thursday, and the crowds weren't too bad. Space and Big Thunder had 30 minute waits and Peter Pan was long as always. Around 1ish, Small World even had a 10 minute wait and HM had about 20, but around 3pm things thinned out and everything was basically walk on minus Space and BTMRR which still held about 30minute wait times. We were there all of last week and the only time we had any issue with the crowd level was on Saturday the 16th due to the MLK Holiday weekend. Keep in mind that the weather was chili by local standards to this may have influenced the crowd level a bit. We did find that there was a large contigent of people from Brazil also. Don't know what Holiday was going on in Brazil but, there were a lot of them.

As for crowds, I agree that it was off and on crowded. Most rides stayed in the 20-30 min wait zone. Epcot was absolutely insane on Sunday morning (Jan 10) with the marathon and MK was extremely crowded on Jan 15 as MLK weekend began. Even Buzz had a 30 min wait and Space Mtn was about 90 min. The rest of the time crowds seemed pretty large in the mornings but dwindled throughout the day. Had it been warmer, not sure they would have dwindled as much but the cold definitely influenced people leaving early.

We went to MK and Epcot on our Jan. 6-14 trip and never waited more than 20 minutes for anything.
We took advantage of morning EMH at MK and got to ride Buzz Lightyear five times in a row with no wait at all.
Our longest wait was about 20 minutes for Peter Pan. We walked right onto the Haunted Mansion two times and had about 10 minute waits for POC.
Most of the bigger lines we ran into were at Universal Studios. Go figure.
We also ran into a lot of Brazilian tour groups, but they were very well behaved and were no problem.
