Jan. 13, 1927 – Disney Legend Antonio Bertini was born in Milan, Italy. He would go on to work as a sales representative for Disney in character merchandising.
Jan. 13, 1930 - The first Mickey comic strip was published in the New York Mirror, and was written by Walt Disney himself.
Jan. 13, 1931 – Tony-award winning actor, comedian, director, and drama teacher Charles Nelson Reilly was born in the Bronx, N.Y. He was the voice of King Midas in Disney’s TV series “Hercules,” and the voice of Dutch Sparkle in “Goof Troop.” (Reilly was best known for his comedic roles in movies, children’s television, and as a panelist on the game show Match Game.)
Jan. 13, 1934 - Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “The China Shop” was released.
Jan. 13, 1934 – The Mickey Mouse Cartoon “Shanghaied” was released.
Jan. 13, 1938 - Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” premiered at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
Jan. 13, 1939 - Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Donald’s Lucky Day” was released.
Jan. 13, 1942 – The Disney film “All Together,” showing advisability and necessity of purchasing Canadian War Bonds, was delivered to the National Film Board of Canada.
Jan. 13, 1954 – Guitarist-composer Trevor Rabin, who wrote music for Disney’s “Remember the Titans” film and the “Mission: SPACE” attraction, was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. (Music fans may remember him as a one-time member of the progressive rock group, YES)
Jan. 13, 1961 - Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the voice of Princess Atta in Disney’s 1998 film, “A Bug’s Life” was born in New York City.
