Jan. 10, 1904 – Actor Ray Bolger was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Best known for his role of the scarecrow in “The Wizard of Oz,” Bolger also starred in Disney’s 1961 live-action feature “Babe in Toyland.”
Jan. 10, 1927 - Disney’s Alice Comedy film “Alice the Golf Bug” was released.
Jan. 10, 1930 - Roy Edward Disney, Vice Chairman of Disney, and nephew of Walt, was born to Roy and Edna Disney in Los Angeles, Ca.
Jan. 10, 1932 - The first color comic pages by Disney were published in the Sunday newspapers.
Jan. 10, 1941 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Timber” was released.
Jan. 10, 1965 – The Disney TV show “Ida, the Offbeat Eagle” aired.
Jan. 10, 1970 - Disney World’s Preview Center opened on Buena Vista Blvd. off state road 535. (Closed Sept. 30, 1971)
Jan. 10, 1973 - Tom Sawyer’s Island opened in Frontierland in the middle of Rivers of America at WDW.
Jan. 10, 1988 – The Disney Channel’s TV series “The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” began airing. (Ended Sept. 4, 1992)
Jan. 10, 1992 – The Disney/Hollywood Pictures film “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” was released.
