Jan. 5, 1913 – Animator, director, writer and Disney Legend Jack Hannah was born in Arizona. At the Walt Disney Studio’s he would start as an animator before helping Carl Barks (the man who drew the comic book adventures of Donald Duck) created his first two comic book stories. Hannah would later go on to direct some 94 Disney animated films.
Jan. 5, 1931 - Al Taliaferro was hired at the Disney Studios, and in 1938 began working on the Donald Duck daily comic strips.
Jan. 5, 1932 - Disney’s 26th Silly Symphony film directed by Wilfred Jackson, “The Bird Store” was completed and would be released later that year.
Jan. 5, 1935 - Disney’s Silly Symphony “The Tortoise and the Hare” was released.
