My husband and I will celebrate 15 years of marriage in January 2011. We spent our 10th anniversary at the GF and had the best meal ever at Victoria & Albert's that trip. We want to book the chef's table for our 15th anniversary, but I cannot find the reservation window anywhere online. Can I book the chef's table this far in advance? I know it's popular, and this is something we really want to do next year, so I want to make sure we don't miss our chance.

Has anyone ever dined @ the chef's table at V&A's? Do you share the table with others, or is it just for the party who books it?

The reservation window for Victoria & Albert's is 180 days, and must be made by calling the dining phone number. The chefs table is only available once per day and sells out very soon after the reservation system opens.

We dined at the Chef's Table for our 10th anniversary. It was the most memorable dinner I've ever had. I have to say it's a little intimidating when you first walk in (well it was for me). You're escorted thru the kitchen to the table in the back and the chef comes over to ask what you like and dislike and the sommelier asks what types of wine you like and don't like (none :D) And then it starts. It's a 13 course meal. You eat everything on the menu that evening and have a glass of wine with each course. Everyone encourages you to ask questions and yes after a couple of glasses of wine we starting asking the chefs questions about the food. When we finally got to dessert I couldn't finish it. It was sooo good but I was sooo full.

The hardest part of the dinner is leaving. Picture this, you entered thru the restaurant, dimly lit, and have now sat for about 3 hours in a brightly lit kitchen drinking wine. It's now time to leave, the Maitre D comes in to retrieve you and says follow directly behind me. When the door opens to the dining room you're eyes don't adjust to the dim lights and I was basically blind. I just looked down and followed his footsteps.

We stayed on the concierge floor at the GF for our anniversary and they called everday and managed to get a reservation. Even if you don't get the Chef's Table dining there is well worth it.

I sent you a pm about the menu that I have.

I knew that. I was looking online for the info on how far in advance I could make a reservation. ; )

Thank you! That's what I needed to know.

Thank you for all the info. Hopefully we'll get a reservation, but if not, just dinner there is amazing. Our 10th anniversary dinner is probably the best meal I've ever had.
