I am pretty sure you can 407- WDW-DISNEY and they can direct your call to guest services. Make sure you have the tickets handy as you will need to read off some info.

On our trip in September,we used some unexpired passes from the 1980s.
As long as they are not stamped, they should stil be valid.
The only catch is to have them converted to present day ticket media at guest services, BEFORE you can enter the park.
And if your old tickets were say, before the Studios or Animal Kingdom existed, they are now good for all the parks.

As far as I know, the only way to officially find out if tickets are valid and how many days are left on them is at guest services at the resort or at the parks.

For a brief window of time in 2009, Disney had a phone line dedicated to this exact mission. They shut it down, however. Experiment went badly, I assume.

A very nice cast member helped me at the resort a few years back. Hopefully they still can- I have left over days;)

Is this something new, because I know at one time it was not the case?

I had tickets that were hoppers before Animal Kingdom came around. We got them converted to "new" passes and we were able to use them at Animal Kingdom just fine. A pass is a pass as far as I know.

You'll have to have them checked at Walt Disney World. I've written the days remaining on ours to help me remember.

I only ask because we had some old tickets from '95 and when we converted them in '03, they were not good for AK. Hopefully they aren't doing it that way anymore.
