Dec. 15, 2000 – Disney’s 39th animated film “The Emperor’s New Groove” was released. The animated feature follows the adventures of the arrogant Emperor Kuzco (voiced by David Spade) and a humble peasant named Pacha (voiced by John Goodman.)
Dec. 15, 2000 – The “Crystal Palace” re-opened for character meals after a renovation at WDW.
Dec. 15, 2000 – Detective Nancy Drew returned to TV for the first time since 1977 when “The Wonderful World of Disney” presented “Nancy Drew” starring Maggie Lawson.
Dec. 15, 2000 – This day was proclaimed “Walt Disney Imagineering Day” by the city of Los Angeles, Ca. during a presentation at Walt’s Barn.
Dec. 15, 2002 – The Crystal Palace (located in the Magic Kingdom at WDW) re-opened for characters meals after a renovation.
Dec. 15, 2002 – Detective Nancy Drew returned to TV for the first time since 1977 when ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney presented “Nancy Drew.”
Dec. 15, 2002 – The city of Los Angeles, Ca. proclaimed this day Walt Disney Imagineering Day during a presentation at Walt’s Barn in Griffith Park.
Dec. 15, 2004 – The Disney Theatrical “Mary Poppins, Live On Stage” had its first performance at the Prince Edward Theatre in London.
Dec. 15, 2004 – On the 50th anniversary of his debut as “king of the wild frontier,” the man known to millions as Davy Crockett received the highest honor Disneyland bestows, when the Anaheim park unveiled a tribute window on Main Street to actor Fess Parker.
Dec. 15, 2006 – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Cast Member Yoko Davis, the winner of the 2006 Cast Member Create-A-Pin contest appeared at Disney Pin Traders in DTD to sign her specially designed Limited Edition Pin.

On this day back in 1966, (Dec 15), we lost the man who started it all, Walt Elias Disney. Never forget. RIP walt:(
