ADR's online?

Can I make ADR's online if I'm staying offsite?
Are there any tips or anything I need to know about doing this?

I went to the WDW website to check out the dining reservations. I couldn't get anywhere.
When I click on "check availability" it opens a window for "file download"
I tried to open this "file", not that I understand why it would do this to look for times for a reservation.
But nothing on my computer would open it.
I doubt WDW would use something that wouldn't be compatible with Windows Vista.
But I can not get anything out of this system.
Am I missing something, or is this just a glitch?

No, you don't have to stay on-site to make an ADR and what you described sounds like a glitch. The system (when it works) does fine with Vista. The problem is that it malfunctions all the time.

As far as ADRs are concerned the only difference is onsite guests can do the 180+10 while off-site can only make ADRs 180 days out or less.

Thanks, I have tried a few times now... I still can't work it. I wonder if the problem is with my computer. I'll try on my daughters, then if that doesn't work, I'll give up and call them!
