So, what do you think of a trip during these 2 days ?
Anyone been before ?

We were in about a mile long line at 6 am to get into the parking lot. Epcot was closed at 11AM, people were camping out on the grassy areas around Test Track, there were makeshift tents around the railing of the World Showcase Lagoon. The only thing left was a table for one at The Biergarten about 6 months out...

It was 1999, the Dawn of the Millennium...

I'd do it again in a heartbeat...

:welcome: to INTERCOT!

We did it in 2007 and we arrived at 11:00 am to check into our resort. At that time we were informed that MK was closed to all guests due to capacity. It was that way all day. In fact just getting into WL took an act of patience. The line just to get to the MK parking lot was well over a mile long.

All the other parks were more crowded than we had ever seen. Since we don't do well in crowds, it was the first and last time we will do that.

We have done it several times.
NYE is so crowded you can't believe it ......
and it is GREAT! Excitment, fun, all kinds of cool special event type areas set up.

New Years Day is not as crowded at all - especially early in the morning!

I would say go with the expectation of seeing shows and entertainment they don't normally have any other time of the year. Do NOT go with the expectation of getting much done or that you will not feel like cattle being herded because you will be extremely disappointed. Don't expect to get a table at a good restaurant and certainly don't expect to wait less than 3 hours for any sort of attractions. This mostly applies New Years Eve. Get there VERY early and stay all day. If you get there in the afternoon or evening you will likely be turned away because every park that has fireworks will be full to capacity.

As an aside, it's also best to point out that your shot at getting an on-property resort this close to New Years is likely slim. The most you could probably get would be one of those outrageously priced 3 bedroom villas at a DVC resort. So you would likely have to stay off-property.
