:( we leave in 23 days and my little sister (17-senior in high school) has been sick for the past month and has lost a lot of weight and has not been at school this entire time and they keep doing tests but they keep pushing them out a week after they do one that rules 1 thing out. So she continues to miss school and is still not well. Now my mom and dad don't think they are going to be able to go because she'll miss more school if she's better or she won't be well enough to go.....but they are the ones who received the pin code offer and I talked to Disney today to confirm my fear that without them then no discount and the time frame for discounts this time of year have already passed. And neither my other sister & her family or ours and my in-laws can afford to pay the difference and still go. Just hoping they get some answers soon. She's been wanting to go back to Disney since we all went 8 years ago and my mom finally agreed.

Oh no this is sooo horrible. There is nothing worst than NOT knowing what is wrong. What is she experiencing? Maybe someone on here can recommend a test or something depending on what her ailments are. Especially testing for lymes or something like that which can cause any type of sickness in a person :(
I hope for all of your sakes that you all get some answers soon.
I would love for you all to go on your trip. If you had to cancel would you get anything back? that maybe you can go when she gets better or at least reach a diagnosis that she can start to get treatment on?
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers!!! Keep us updated on your sisters diagnosis and your trip.

she started off last month not being able to keep any food down so the doctor's 1st thought was H1N1 and said if you aren't better in a week come back. So they go back and he thinks it's an ulcer....do some test it's not that so they schedule tests on her galbladder. Not that so now they are doing edoscopy next week. And all these tests are spread out a week a part when they are things that could have all been done the same day. My mom had been taking her to their family doctor...same guy who was old as dirt 25-30 yrs ago when he was my doctor and they just swtiched but to another family doctor no specialists. My mom wasn't concerned because the doctors weren't. I didn't even know until my other sister asked if I had heard from them since they were at the doctor last week and my dad hadn't heard anything....so they gave me the run down.now my dad is upset because it may end up affecting all of us more than planned especially since they could have done all these tests 4 weeks ago instead of assuming it's the flu. She's not sick or weak enough to need hospitalized...took our neice and nephew trickotreating but it tired her out. My dad says leave her with our brother and they'll just go. My mom doesn't quite have that point of view yet. Maybe someone at Disney will take some sympathy and bend the rules for us if they can't go...wouldn't they rather have 13out of our 16 there instead of 0 especially considering how many times we've been and will be in the future.

This is bringing back memories from my trip a year ago. I pray to God your sister gets better and all the wishes that they get it figured out and taken care of.

Everyone says hind-sight is 20/20. I went through this exact same thing on our trip in November 2008 except my father was on a cruise across the Atlantic while we were in Disney. My trip was miserable when he was in the not knowing state when they first found something wrong. Then the 6-weeks of trying to find it. The "take a test, wait a week to find out that the test didn't find anything" game ***** and I think doctor's that do this are quacks. Where is Dr. House?

Remember that Disney World will always be there. It may be upsetting that you cannot go when you planned, but it may be an unejoyable trip that you may regret. I did on mine.

She had her scope today (after several hour wait because the doctor had to deliver a baby) and they did find an ulcer in her stomach but also several polyps in her colon so they removed those and are running tests on them. So she's on some meds and bland diet with some type of slurry drink before each meal. At least it's answers and she's had to drop the college credit portion of one of her classes because she's missed too many days but she'll still get her high school credit for it.
