Nov. 2, 1992 – The “Mission to Mars” attraction in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland closed.
Nov. 2, 1997 – The Atlanta Journal Constitution ran an article about the “Save Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride” website and its attempt to stop Disney World from replacing the classic attraction. (The site was posted Oct. 23, 1997 just one day after the Orlando Sentinel ran an article announcing Disney’s plans.)
Nov. 2, 1997 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “Cinderella.”
Nov. 2, 1999 – Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa formerly announced that an agreement has been reached with the Walt Disney Co. on building a Disneyland park in Hong Kong.
Nov. 2, 2001 – Disney’s animated feature “Monsters, Inc.,” featuring the voices of John Goodman and Billy Crystal, opened. It is the 4th feature collaboration between the Walt Disney Co. and Pixar Studios.
Nov. 2, 2001 – In a ceremony held at Disney’s California Adventure, Disneyland Cast Member Matt Ebeling (a manager in catering and convention services) was selected as the newest Disneyland Resort Ambassador. Matt replaced outgoing Ambassadors Eddie Garcia and Doina Roman-Osborn.
Nov. 2, 2002 – As part of its grand opening weekend, the new “Borders” in Spokane, Wa. hosted Disney Day.
Nov. 2, 2004 – Disney released “Around the World in 80 Days” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”on DVD. (a special 3-disc set)
Nov. 2, 2004 – “Walt Disney Records Presents Superstar Hits,” was released on CD.
Nov. 2, 2006 – Disney’s Division II Tip-Off Classic kicked off for 5-days at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida
