Oct. 30, 1996 – Disney’s “Toy Story” was released on home video.
Oct. 30, 1997 – “Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party” began at the Magic Kingdom in WDW. (Ran on the 30th & 31st)
Oct. 30, 1997 – The “Disney Fair” Live Stage show, exhibits, games, and shops, started touring in Singapore.
Oct. 30, 2000 – At the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Ca. “The Nightmare Before Christmas” was shown along with the brand new Disney short “John Henry.”
Oct. 30, 2002 – The Disneyland Resort hosted a costume party and screening of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
Oct. 30, 2002 – Beauty and the Beast became the 7th longest running show on Broadway with 3,487 performances.
Oct. 30, 2003 – Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” film screening took place at Disneyland.
Oct. 30, 2005 – The world premiere of “Chicken Little” took place at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, Ca.
Oct. 30, 2006 – The Children’s Hospital Los Angeles was presented a $5 million gift from the Walt Disney Company Foundation. It would be used toward the construction of a new hospital building slated to open in 2009.
Oct. 30, 2006 – James McCown of St. Petersburg, Fl. rode Expedition Everest for the 1000th time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Riding with McCown (who calls himself “Yeti Man” and wears furry gloves and a ski hat) is park guest Steven Nichols, age 12, from London, England.
